We live in a digital age, where behind every great idea are innovative technology products and processes that make it happen. In the Banking world, every action we take becomes a digital transaction – whether it’s a payment, remittance, credit or value/couponing. For this reason, Technology is a driving force at Barclays. Through bold new products, seamless ways of working and sky-high standards of service we want to make the lives of our customers much easier. That’s where our Future Leaders Development Programme comes in. We’re looking for creative people who are up for any challenge who will use their technical knowledge to take our industry into the next generation of banking. Our Technology – Product and Process Development Leadership Programme is about turning your big ideas into reality.
We’ve long been a pioneer in the industry – in 1961 we were the first in Britain to open a computer centre for banking, in 1966 we were the first to launch a credit card; in 1967 we unveiled the world’s first cash machine (ATM). In our more recent past – in 2007 we were the first in the UK to introduce the CAP Pin Sentry device to increase online security and in 2008 we were the first bank in the UK to announce a mass roll-out of contactless enabled debit cards. Now we want to take it to the next level.
Enabling over 37 million customers worldwide, 70,000 colleagues in 25 countries, and over 1,400 global services – we’re every bit as advanced, diverse and stimulating as you’d expect. We’re determined to carry on leading the field and invest in innovation across the board, from mobile banking to new branch technology. That means every product, in every market, for every customer, every time. We believe in living in our customers’ world.
We’re one of the areas of Barclays Retail and Business Banking that operates on a global scale, with thousands of people not just in the UK but across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. When you join the team, you’ll start by spending time in any one of our key locations in the UK, Lithuania or India. Some exposure to our Headquaters in Canary Wharf, London is possible, and one of your assignments is likely to be in one of our global locations.
Whatever your ambition, the Technology – Product and Process Development Programme will give you the opportunity to learn from some of the best people in the field.
